BEC STORY
In November 2011 INPULSE team started a series of initiatives with a small group of motivated and interdisciplinary international students focusing on developing their entrepreneurial dreams and willing to network with other international students based in the Boston area coming from Harvard and MIT. After organizing several networking events, INPULSE team decided to target the international students incoming to Boston to test a program about knowledge and experience exchange. In May 2012, after a pilot period of 7 months with one of the largest language school for international students in Cambridge, INPULSE created a new program, the “Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship in Boston”. The program was inspired by the David Gergen's course "Becoming A Leader", the workshops of Marshall Gunz at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and the startup activities of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center. The program was designed by mentors with a wide range of backgrounds and was dedicated to empower international students' communication skills.
The successful outcomes of the “Leadership and Entrepreneurship” program drove INPULSE team to set up an innovative educational project in order to face the market with a new attractive branded initiative: the Boston Entrepreneurship Center (BEC). Impact Hub Boston and Boston Entrepreneurship Center (BEC) entered a partnership in 2013 ( from July 2013 to April 2014) to accelerate business and international sales insight in early stage startup founders. As a founding Member of the Impact Hub Boston and the Director of BEC Lucio Campanelli coordinated the inception, launch and support of over 50 business projects and 15 startups that achieve successful outcome in less than one year.
BEC mission resides in the creation and proliferation of new professional opportunities for the international community through the promotion and development of entrepreneurial skills and a startup mindset for individuals and teams intrigued transform their ideas in reality in USA. This will lead BEC members define and improve their project and business ideas in order to approach their target audience (as clients, potential partners or investors), build effective branding and marketing campaigns, understand capital raising mechanisms and develop global business networks. The final objective is to support individuals and teams to create and improve successful business operations and build competitive personal or business advantage. BEC services provide the required educational and strategic support through a unique and proprietary Coaching Startup Model.
